1. ACCTstudy Uses AI

Several features - the Kai tutor chat, homework help, and generated flashcards, tests, lessons, and study plans - are powered by a third-party AI service. These features read the course material you upload and generate explanations, practice questions, hints, and study content from it.

2. AI Can Be Wrong

AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or outdated information. This includes explanations, generated quiz/test questions and their marked "correct" answers, hints, and any calculations Kai performs. Always check AI-generated content against your actual course materials, textbook, and instructor guidance before relying on it for graded work or exam preparation.

We apply automated checks to some generated content (for example, verifying arithmetic in generated answer keys) to reduce the rate of errors, but these checks do not catch everything, and no AI system used by ACCTstudy is independently re-graded by a human before you see it.

3. Not a Substitute for Your Instructor

ACCTstudy is a study aid, not a replacement for your course instructor, textbook, or institution's own academic resources. If an AI-generated explanation conflicts with what your instructor has taught, follow your instructor's guidance.

4. Academic Integrity Is Your Responsibility

Whether and how you're permitted to use AI-assisted tools like ACCTstudy for a specific assignment, quiz, or exam is governed by your own school's or instructor's academic integrity policy, not by us. It's your responsibility to know and follow those rules - see Section 4 (Acceptable Use) of our Terms of Service.

5. What Happens to What You Submit

Questions you ask Kai and course material you upload for AI-assisted features are sent to our AI service provider to generate a response. See our Privacy Policy for details on how that data is handled, and note that AI responses aren't reviewed by a human before being shown to you.
